Meet the SSA Team: Cortney Casey

Standard

In a series of blog posts, we’re introducing the team behind Stephanie Schlatter Art. They’re the folks who are out on the street promoting my artwork, keeping the website and social media humming along, etc., while I’m in the studio focused on creating!

Cortney Casey joined the team earlier this year as social media manager, responsible for updating and overseeing the SSA Facebook and Twitter accounts. She also assists with the SSA blog and other writing tasks, like editing copy and penning press releases.

Cortney is the co-founder of MichiganByTheBottle.com, a website that promotes the entire Michigan wine industry via video features and travel diaries, weekly video podcasts, tasting notes, contests, articles, a thriving social media community and an iPhone/Android app guide to Michigan wine country. Under the MBTB Media arm of the company, she handles social media management for several Michigan wineries. Cortney also is the co-owner and tasting room manager at Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room, a brick-and-mortar offshoot of the original website. Stephanie’s work is featured in a long-term exhibit at the tasting room, which is located in Shelby Township and offers guests a chance to sample and stock up on more than 30 wines from six partner wineries — Chateau Aeronautique, Chateau de Leelanau, Domaine Berrien Cellars, Gill’s Pier, Peninsula Cellars and Sandhill Crane Vineyards, scattered throughout Michigan — in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The tasting room also hosts events ranging from “meet the winemaker” nights and wine classes to yoga and wine events and food and wine pairings.
