Painting of the Week: Sauvignon Blanc Fields (bin616 Sauvignon Blanc)

Standard

ImageStephanie is excited to announce the use of her artwork on the new bin616 line of wines, available exclusively at the Amway Hotel Collection, including JW Marriott, Amway Grand Plaza and Courtyard by Marriott hotels! Her colorful pieces — two figurative, in honor of us, the wine drinkers; two centered on the land, a nod to the farmers, the winemakers and the fruit itself — will appear on bottles of bin616 Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.

Sauvignon Blanc Fields: The Sunlight of a Season Uncorked

“In the landscapes of my imagination, the sun is always shining on the vines of wine country. Regardless of whether the day is just beginning or drawing to a close, sunrises and sunsets make the fields glow in equal measure, with the sky above — as if bowing in appreciation and applause for the land — displaying the most glorious array of colors.

“When I close my eyes, sip a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and imagine where the grapes I’m tasting originated, it is this painting that I imagine.

“The process behind this painting was very hands on; in fact, it literally was done completely with my hands, without brushes. Working with my hands makes me feel connected to the piece; it’s very tactile, very engaged, and I’m right there, as if in the painting. To me, the exciting part of being a painter is watching what the paint will do. In these kinds of pieces, as my hands push the paint, it moves and blends into itself, colors colliding, causing an image to materialize. True to the process and my imagination and less concerned with reality, I paint places I want to go, and this painting is a place I want to be. I want to bring all of you with me so together we can toast to life, to the creative process, and to the enjoyment of beautiful Sauvignon Blanc.”

Painting of the Week: “The Cows, the Vines, the Trees and M22”

Standard

“It’s not a secret that M22 is one of my favorite places to be. For me, it is magical: It’s all about the layering of trees, the vineyards, the barns and the cattle you pass along the way. This painting combines all of my favorite things about a place that is dear to me. The colors represent an evening sky, when everything is lit in the golden glow of a setting sun and the layers of trees, silhouetted just a bit by the fading light, tend to pop out even more than usual.

“The cows are collaged in, and they are cows I actually met ‘On the Michigan Wine Trail.’ They came up from behind while I was photographing a vineyard and they were so cute; they were very curious about me and didn’t have any fear.  There are also fences crafted from sheet music, representing the melodies that play in my head whenever I’m near M22! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.”
