Shady Lane Cellars – Semi-Dry Riesling

A beautiful example of what Michigan can do and what a great Riesling can be. Apple, apricot, and Lilly’s of the Valley on the nose. Going down it’s a lovely balance between a semi sweet start, balanced out by the perfect acidity. Perfect with something spicy on your plate, think Asian, or Mexican! Cheers!

Bowers Harbor Vineyard 2011 Unwooded Chardonnay

This has been a long standing favorite of mine. A ‘go to’ wine, with plenty in my cellar at all times. This chardonnay with hints of apple, pear, and citrus notes is always a good idea when the food, weather or mood calls for white. The happy little burst of brilliance on the tongue as it goes down is rewarded with a clean crisp refreshing finish. For my palate, this wine is strong enough to carry right through any season, making it a treat any time of year! Cheers to great wine, made in our great state. Pure Michigan!
